The Intuitive Soul

Upon an autumnal cloth lies an amethyst cluster and the Guardian of Air card from the Gaian Tarot. The card shows a mature black-haired woman with a streak of grey in her hair. She is dressed in blue robes and is sitting cross-legged in the snow. Her feet are bare. With her right hand she runs a mallet around the outside of a frosted crystal singing bowl. A snowy owl flies in a blue sky above her.I have long believed tarot to be a useful tool for self-discovery and self-awareness. Since picking up my first deck at the age of fifteen, I have continuously found insight and understanding, caution and patience, advice and encouragement through the use of tarot.

I love the act of shuffling the cards. It can be very soothing: that repetitive motion whilst I clear my mind and come into deep presence with myself. And, whether it is a daily one card draw or a spread designed to help me understand the heart of a matter, the cards have been a constant companion and guiding force in my life.

Many people believe tarot is simply a divination tool, only used to tell the future (or a version of it). However, tarot can help you become more aware of your feelings and motivations as you navigate your life’s path, undergo transformations, and transition from one moment to the next. It can identify the energies around a situation, to gain a bigger perspective, and lend caution or encouragement in equal measure. It can help you discover your dreams, your strengths and weaknesses, and your next steps.

“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.”
~ Steve Jobs

Do you long to have a deeper connection with yourself? Through the use of tarot we can explore how you can foster a more personal bond with your inner wisdom.

Would you like to access and trust your intuition? With the tarot as your guide, we can peel back the layers that have distanced you from your natural intuitive skills and encourage you in trusting them again.

Working on a creative project, hit a roadblock, or not sure where to start? Tarot can be your roadmap as to what is happening, and how to overcome the obstacles in your path.

Are you seeking a new perspective on an issue or situation that’s been troubling you? Tarot can offer a reassuring hand through whatever is going on.

And, if you’re working with beliefs which hold you back or limit how you view yourself, tarot can open up your awareness as to why and when these beliefs occur — and how we can to work to dissolve them.

As a Life Coach and tarot enthusiast, I often approach the tarot for guidance whenever I need clarity on a subject or situation. After 25 years of working with the cards, I am still learning about their messages and how they integrate into my life and choices. And I love talking tarot with other tarot enthusiasts, regardless of your experience with the cards.

It is important to note that tarot doesn’t hold the power to change your life. Only you can do that. Tarot can show one of many options based on the question you ask and what’s going on at the time. You live in choice, and possibilities and solutions are always found within you. Tarot, like coaching, is just one way of gaining extra clarity and awareness around these possibilities and solutions.

Seen from above is a wooden tray, upon which sits the Lumina Tarot deck, face down. The back of the cards is black with white glyphs. Alongside the deck is the King of Cups card, showing a man sitting on an ornate throne with a chalice above his head. Pieces of clear quartz, black tourmaline, and rose quartz can also be seen on the tray, along with an amethyst cluster and a statue of the Buddha. There is also the companion guidebook to the Lumina Tarot, the cover of which is white with black line drawings and a blue, red, and purple watercolour effect in the centre.

There are several ways in which we can work with tarot together:
